Protocols for Replacing Horizontal Seal Jaws and Vertical Sealing Bar
Horizontal Sealing Jaws
This section describes how to replace the heating cartridges and the temperature probes inside of the horizontal sealing jaws and in the vertical sealing bar.
Horizontal Sealing Jaws Use the following procedure to replace the heating cartridges and the temperature probes inside of the horizontal sealing jaws. At this point, ,the bagmaker should be locked-out and tagged-out, and, the sealing jaws should be cool to the touch.
To replace the heater cartridges and probes:
1. Disconnect the jaw air lines and power cables connected to the machine housing.
2. Remove the securing hardware that holds the jaws to the drawbars.
3. Remove the jaw assemblies from the drawbars and place them on a work bench.

3. Remove the terminal housings from the jaw bodies.
4. Remove the terminal housing covers to expose the ceramic connectors.
5. Disconnect the heater cartridges and the temperature probes from the ceramic connectors.
6. Remove the heater cartridges and the temperature probes from the jaw bodies.
7. Insert new heater cartridges and temperature probes into the jaw bodies.
8. Connect the new heater cartridges and the temperature probes to the ceramic connects.
9. Assemble the jaw assemblies and install them on the drawbars.

Vertical Sealing Bar
Use the following procedure to replace the heating cartridge and the temperature probe inside of the vertical sealing bar. At this point, the bagmaker should be locked-out and tagged-out, and, the sealing bar should be cool to the touch.
To replace the heater cartridge and the probe:
1. Remove the vertical sealing bar terminal housing.
2. Disconnect the heating cartridge and the temperature probe from the ceramic connectors.
3. Remove the heating cartridge and the temperature probe from the vertical sealing bar.
4. Insert a new heating cartridge and temperature probe in the bar.
5. Connect the new heating cartridge and temperature probe to the ceramic connectors.
6. Install the terminal housing on the vertical sealing bar.
